Jadon Sancho out of England squad with injury

Jadon Sancho has left England duty and returned to Manchester United after suffering a knock in training.

The 21-year-old picked up the injury prior to the meeting with Hungary, and while he was unavailable for that game, he was expected to be fit to face Andorra this weekend at Wembley Stadium.

However, Sancho has not recovered in time for the World Cup qualifier and, as such, will return to United training ahead of the return of club football next week.

As per a press release from the FA, Sancho is expect to recover in time for the Red Devils’ 11 September meeting with Newcastle at Old Trafford – a game which promises to be a special one as Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make his second debut for the club.

Sancho signed for United in the summer for a reported £73m, and has been eased into life at his new club by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The young attacker has made only one start in the Premier League, and has come off the bench in the other two games as United picked up seven points from a possible nine to start the season.
